The National Association of State Energy Officials (“NASEO”) has released a document titled:
2025 Bipartisan Energy Policy Recommendations: America’s Competitive Advantage – Affordable and Abundant Clean Energy (“2025 Recommendations”).
NASEO describes itself as:
…the only national non-profit association for the Governor-designated energy officials from each of the 56 states and territories.
The organization states that it:
…facilities peer learning among state energy officials, serves as a resource for and about State Energy Offices, and advocates the interest of the State Energy Offices to Congress and federal agencies.
The introduction to the 2025 Recommendations states that state-federal coordination is:
…pivotal in addressing a variety of energy system challenges such as:
- Rising power demand.
- Reliability concerns.
- Evolving economic
- Workforce needs.
- Equity.
- Increasing physical security and Cybersecurity threats.
Such policies are stated to:
- Shape energy markets.
- Support energy system security.
- Reduce costs and emissions.
- Accelerate innovation.
- Spur economic development.
The Recommendations include:
- Support State-Federal Energy Policy and Program Coordination.
- Advance Federal Permitting Reform.
- Support Electric System Reliability and Security.
- Modernize the Electric Grid.
- Incentivize State Energy Office–Private Sector Energy Partnerships.
- Create Opportunities for Underserved Communities.
